Magic Johnson Enterprises has entered a multiyear agreement with Aetna, one of the country’s leading healthcare companies. The alliance aspires to improve healthcare literacy, wellness, combat and ethnic inequality in the country’s urban neighborhoods through intensive community outreach programs.

Aetna hopes this will help it make sales in key urban areas, especially among small businesses, which often don’t offer health insurance to workers.

The agreement was announced at the Magic Johnson Theater in Harlem, by Aetna Chief Executive Ronald A. Williams and Magic Johnson. “This is a tremendous opportunity to bring two strong brands together,” said Williams.
